Finding eBooks

The UW Libraries has a growing collection of electronic books covering all topics. The best way to find a specific eBook or eBooks on a topic is to use UW Worldcat.

Advanced Search | UW Libraries Search (beta)search with worldcat

To find books:

  • On a topic: type in the keywords that broadly describe your topic.  For example: heath care policy politics
  • By title - type in the first few words of the title in quotations. For example: "governing health the politics"
  • By author - Type in the last name followed by the first name of the author in quotations.  For example: "skocpol theda"

On the results screen use the options on the left toolbar to narrow your results to the format "eBook." This will eliminate any articles and print books from your results.

Getting too many irrelevant results? Add another keyword to your search or use the toolbar on the left to narrow down your results by author, language, publication year, etc.
