Food Security for the 21st Century: U.S. and the World

Anand Yang MW 1:30-3:20

More people are hungry today than ever before in human history.  Spiraling food prices and a global economic crisis have made questions of food production, distribution, and consumption central to issues of human security.  This Task Force will address food security as a major policy challenge for the U.S. and the world and propose steps that policymakers can take to alleviate hunger and anticipate food uncertainties around the world.  It will emphasize a human security approach to the problem by considering the interests and rights of people and communities paramount.

UW WorldCat: Search UW Libraries and beyond What is UW WorldCat?

UW Worldcat is especially useful when you want to search as broadly as possible for a topic or when you are seeking a relatively rare item that isn't likely to be available at the UW. It also facilitates borrowing books from other libraries.

Tips for searching UW WorldCat for Books on...

  • Try a keyword search and add these phrases:
  • Use the Topic limit (one of the links along the left of your search results) to narrow the scope of your search to Topics related to Geography.
  • Getting too many results? Don't want to wait for interlibrary loan? Try searching the UW-only Catalog for items *only* in our system.
