Quick Links

  • SciFinder Scholar
SciFinder Scholar is an intelligent interface which helps users to easily search the extensive Chemical Abstracts Databases. Searches can be done by subject phrases, author names and chemical identification such as structure/substructure, reactions, molecular formulae and more.
  • Cambridge Structural Database
This resource is available only on Internet Explorer.
Note: If you access CSD from a non-Libraries computer, you will be prompted to allow ActiveX controls and add a Libraries site to the IE "trusted sites" list.
  • Medline (PubMed)
Covers more than 3,900 journals in biomedicine, including citations published in Index medicus, International nursing index, and Index to dental literature, from 1966 to the present. [UW restricted]
  • Beilstein
Beilstein Crossfire is a powerful interface which searches 2 different databases: Beilstein, containing information on over 8 mil. organic compounds and Gmelin, containing information on over 1 mil. inorganic and organometalic compounds. These databases are excellent sources of property information and reaction information. The databases can be searched by name, stucture/substructure, reaction information or property and much more.

Welcome

Welcome to the new year and a new quarter. Though I have made changes on this site, it is still very much a work in progress. I would be pleased to hear from you about suggestions to make it better.

We have now completed one full quarter without the Chemistry Library. I know this has been a challenge for many of you. Please remember that I am still available to help you with your chemical information needs and can be reached by phone or email as well as when I am on the Suzzallo-Allen reference desk.

One alert-I will soon be setting a cutoff date where we will no longer be supporting the client version of SciFinder Scholar. Please let me know if you have any issues or concerns about this change.  Susanne

If you have questions, please contact me at curie@u.washington.edu or call (206) 543-2070
