History of Canadiana collections

The University Libraries' Canadiana collection has a long history dating back to the founding of the university in the late 19th century. In 1940, the Pacific Northwest Library Association founded the Pacific Northwest Bibliographic Center serving libraries in Alaska, Idaho, British Columbia, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. In 1987, with the founding of the Canadian Studies Center within the Jackson School of International Studies, a Canadian Studies librarian was appointed.
